The micro-scale abrasive wear behaviour of the medical Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy was studied by the TE66 micro scale abrasion machine.The influence of sliding distance and load on micro scale abrasive wear behaviour of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy was investigated,and the wear mechanism was analyzed through observing the wear scar morphology.The experimental results indicate that the wear volume of Ti-6Al-4V alloy is increased with the increase of sliding distance and load,and the wear rate is reverse.The wear rate of Ti-6Al-4V alloy is lower when rubbing with Si3N4 ball of high hardness than with ZrO2 ball of low hardness.The wear mechanism of Ti-6Al-4V alloy is turned into mixed wear of two body and three body from three body wear along with the increasing of sliding distance and load,and the area of mixed wear is greater when rubbing with ZrO2 ball than with Si3N4 ball.
