Abstract:Resinbased friction materials containing steel slag powder were prepared by dry heatpressing process.The density,hardness,impact strength,friction and wear properties of the friction materials with different steel slag powder content were studied.The morphologies of worn surface of different friction materials were observed by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and the wear mechanism was analyzed.The results show that the density,hardness and impact strength of friction materials is increased gradually with the increasing of the steel slag powder content.When the content of steel slag powder is 20%(mass fraction),the friction materials have high friction coefficient and low wear rate,which exhibit the best comprehensive properties.However,when the content of steel slag powder is more than 20%(mass fraction),the heat fading resistance of samples is decreased,showing that heat wear and abrasive wear are the main wear forms.
