Abstract:Aimed at the severe wear problem of magnetorheological polishing wheel in longterm use,the causes of wear were clarified,a model of semifixd abrasive wear was proposed and main impact factors of wear were analyzed. It is shown that the semifixd abrasive wear between the magnetic seal forming by recycling device and polishing wheel is the main reason of magnetorheological polishing wheel wear, and the wear characteristics show that both twobody wear and threebody wear exist in the wear process. The change of magnetic field and flux linkage is the fundamental reason for the change of wear rate. The main factors affecting the wear of polishing wheel are the gap length between the polishing wheel and recycling device, the rotation speed of the polishing wheel, the concentration and size of the polishing abrasive. The effects of three main factors on the wear of polishing wheel were studied experimentally. The results show that the wear rate is decreased with the increase of the gap length between the polishing wheel and recycling device, and first increased then decreased with the increase of the rotation speed of the polishing wheel, the concentration and size of the polishing abrasive. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis results, which verifies the correctness of the semifixed abrasive wear model.
